Today so far has just been work and showers. After showers we are going to go somewhere but no one knows where yet. I think we are going to the San Diego zoo but I’m not sure. Last night was so amazing! We went to the sanctuary and worshiped with a guy Neil invited. His name was Isaiah and he had an amazing voice.

Then we got time to pray to God about a lot of different stuff. We asked him to forgive us for stuff we have done bad and like pray for one person who we want to become closer to God. I prayed for my oldest brother Jason. Then we got to just hang out and spend time with God and our friends.

When we were done we came back to the gym and got to have birthday cake for all the people who are celebrating their birthday with us.  This is my first year on this and a lot of people say that this trip is amazing. I wasn’t feeling it the first couple days but after last night my perspective on this trip totally changed!

After last night I felt like a new person. I felt refreshed and ready for anything they might throw at us. I also got the privilege to play a drum called the djembe during worship every night. Its hard for me to sing at the same time as I play so I see all these awesome people spending time with God and dancing and singing their hearts out. It was cool getting to watch that.

Well I miss everyone back at home and I can’t wait to see you all soon. :-)

… Today I definitely had a very tough time waking up, however PJ’s singing was a delight to wake up to! First thing this morning we had our time for devotions, which was the perfect way to start the morning.

After having breakfast we headed off to our work sites, which is always a memorable part of any summer trip. My group went across the street to paint the building that is used for church meetings. I had an awesome work crew which made it all the more enjoyable. Once the building was completely painted we came back to Christ Lutheran Church, where we are staying, for burritos! Then we had our showers, but this time we had to shower super fast because we only had a limited amount of time before we had to head off to our afternoon activity.

This afternoon we got to go to the movies to see “Get Smart.” I personally thought it was funny, but at the same time it was extremely cheesy! Haha. Now we are just hanging out at the church until it is time for our pasta dinner, followed by worship.

This week has been completely amazing and everything I imagined it would be, and more. I think I speak for everyone on the trip when I say that! The worship was incredible and gave all of us a nice break from reality to hang out with God and really focus on Him. Well, I think I am going to go hang out with all the amazing kids and leaders, so peace out and have a great day! J

This week has been so amazing! It’s so strange how different each trip we go on is so different. Today was a lot of fun, especially after our worship last night because it really opened my eyes and let me become who I want to be. Neil and Amy couldn’t have picked better messages to send to us, they really have touched me.

Today was the last day of our service work and man did I get messy (I still can’t get the paint off!). Just the fact of knowing I made a difference in the life of a community puts a huge smile on my face. Right when we got back we ate some burritos and had to rush very, very fast to take showers. When everyone was finally done we went to our surprise of the day which was a movie called “Get Smart.” Gosh that was so funny especially sitting next to Valentina!

Right now we’re eating pasta and salad and tonight we're having a special ceremony for all of our amazing seniors. Although I am looking forward to it, I’m kind of sad because my big sister is leaving this year ... :-) Tomorrow is going to be so cool even though I am clueless of what activity we will be doing (hopefully something fun!).

We all miss you even if it doesn’t sound like it but we will see you guys soon! I’m going to go eat with all of my new friends! I love you guys.

:-)
